State Accounting Office's Policies

The creation and communication of statewide accounting policies and procedures is a key element of the State Accounting Office goal to provide fiscal leadership for Georgia.

State Accounting Office's Accounting Policy Manual

The Accounting Policy Manual includes high-level policies and procedures to ensure that financial activity is recorded accurately and consistently across organizations, so that government-wide financial statements will comply with authoritative Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and legislative standards.  Basic guidance on accounting requirements, including journal entry examples, is included in these documents.  Accounting manual topics apply to all State of Georgia accounting organizations, regardless of their accounting systems.

Corrective Action Plans

The Corrective Action Plans operational procedure informs organizations of their responsibilities to develop corrective action plans to address findings reported by the auditors and also provides instructions for the completion of those corrective action plans.

Statewide Travel Regulations

The Statewide Travel Regulations provide organizations with the guidelines that should be applied to both in-state and out-of-state travel to promote economy and efficiency in State Government and to treat employees fairly and equitably.

College/University Resources

The College and University resource page provides links for all Georgia Public Colleges, Universities and Technical Colleges.  Information can be found for those entities subject to audits, attestation, and agreed-upon procedure engagements.
