State Government Division

The State Government Division (SGD) is responsible for planning and performing audits and other procedures, as needed, in order for the issuance of the State of Georgia Budgetary Compliance Report, the State of Georgia Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), the State of Georgia Single Audit Report, as well as, various other legislative and budgetary financial reports; including over 40 organizational level Budgetary Compliance Reports.  In relation to these duties, SGD performs accounting and auditing related research to ensure successful implementation of generally accepted accounting principles and government auditing standards - as such standards apply to the types of engagements performed by the division.

The State Government Division also assists with the annual accumulation of salary and travel expenses incurred by all personnel of every office, institution, board, department and commission in the executive department of the State government, of every State authority and of other reporting entity organizations of the State of Georgia; along with accumulated totals of payments of fees and expenses for professional services and other payment and obligation information for these same organizations. This information can be found on the Open Georgia website.  The State Government Division also ensures compliance by these same organizatons with the reporting requirements, involving to the Department of Audit and Accounts, for the Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act of 2011.
